Cocktails and Conversations: Dialogues on Architectural Design

In 2012 Abby started a Friday night series at the Center for Architecture to focus on design. Architects were paired with a journalist and a drink was created in the spirit of the architects work. To date there have been 59 programs (and counting). The program has been given twice at the National Convention (with no alcohol): In New York with Eric Owen Moss FAIA and Tom Kundig FAIA and Jim Russell FAIA to moderate. It was also given in Las Vegas with Emre Arolat Hon FAIA and Marlon Blackwell FAIA and Cathleen McGuigan as the moderator. With Covid, the architects could stay home and the last few programs were coordinated in conjunction with the local chapter Neil Denari FAIA (with LA), Stephen Kieran and James Timberlake (with Phila) and Trey Trahan FAIA (with New Orleans).
